Member Organizations Spread the News About Winning Spirit of Collaboration Projects

University of Michigan (Oct. 31, 2007 News Release)
"A University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center doctor is part of a team that will be awarded the Michigan Cancer Consortium’s highest honor on Wednesday. The Lung Cancer Early Detection Workgroup, which Gregory Kalemkerian, M.D., co-chaired, will receive the MCC Spirit of Collaboration Award.
"Kalemkerian’s group produced a position statement for Michigan health care providers in the public and private sectors about lung cancer detection, an issue that has created significant controversy in the field today..."
Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute (Nov. 2, 2007 News Release)
"The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and project collaborators recently received top honors from the Michigan Cancer Consortium (MCC) at its annual meeting in Lansing.
"Every year since 2001, the MCC presents its highest honor, the Spirit of Collaboration Award, to member organizations in recognition of their collaborative work to improve cancer care in Michigan. The Latina Breast Health Project, the Lung Cancer Early Detection Workshop and the Pamper Party for Breast Health each received the Spirit of Collaboration Award, and an honorable mention was given to the Gift of Life Walk. Each of the projects has numerous collaborators to make them successful..."
