Health Insurance Open Enrollment Updates

Open Enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace for 2015 health coverage began on November 15th, 2014 and runs through February 15th, 2015. Over the next three months, we will be monitoring roll out of the second Open Enrollment Period and distribute enrollment-related updates and resources.

1)Talking points developed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) about Open Enrollment. These talking points can be used by grantees and other CDC partners to inform consumers on how to apply and enroll in health coverage as well as how to renew their insurance during the second Open Enrollment Period if they previously secured insurance coverage.

2) An “Insurance Guide” in the format of a decision tree that explains what consumers need to do during Open Enrollment; it is based on (a) whether the consumer currently has health insurance or not, (b) the type of health insurance they have (e.g., Medicaid), and (c) the state they live in.
